Read Time: 6 minutes
Hello Digital Dynamos!
This week, we're diving into the buzzing world of TikTok advertising, and guess what? You don't need a Hollywood budget or a creative genius to make ads that sell. With ChatGPT, you're about to become the Spielberg of TikTok ads! 🎬
With ChatGPT, you can create scripts that not only engage but also convert viewers into customers. Here's what you'll learn today:
Brainstorming marketing angles that resonate with TikTok audiences.
Crafting TikTok ad scripts that captivate and sell.
Writing viral TikTok ad hooks that are impossible to scroll past.
How to use ChatGPT to generate marketing angle ideas
When launching TikTok Ads for a product, it's crucial to test different marketing angles to see which resonates most with your potential buyers.
For instance, if you're selling a 3-in-1 cream, a creative angle focusing on "money-saving" might outperform one highlighting the eco-friendly aspect of your product. But the only way to know for sure is to test.
This prompt will help you generate 10 marketing angles tailored to your product, ready for testing:
You are a copywriting expert specialized in customer and market research.
Your task is to brainstorm marketing angles that will be used to market [PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND BRAND DETAILS].
A marketing angle is a message or idea that uniquely sells our product. It is a unique perspectives or spins used in advertising to capture the attention of potential customers and differentiate your ecommerce store from the competition. They’re the creative hooks that reel in your audience and make them want to explore what you’re selling.
Here are some examples of marketing angles so you can understand what it is:
- It’s easy to use
- Everyone is doing it
- You’ll save time
- You’ll save money, have more, or make more
- You have nothing to lose
- It reduces stress
- Get Healthy, Get in Shape, Live Long and Have Energy
- Avoid effort
- Escape mental or physical pain
- Increase comfort
- Improved status and luxury
- Feel loved
- Be praised/appreciated
- Feel confident
- Focus on our unique ingredient
It's the same product, but different ideas, different benefits, different pain points, different objections, etc. are emphasized.
List 10 marketing angles and format it in a table with the following columns:
- Product name
- Marketing angle
- Desire: This is a desire that the avatar has. For example, "to become the best version of yourself.
- Belief / hope: This is something the avatar hopes to achieve by using our product. For example « using this journal enables me to become the best version of myself and regain my self-confidence »
- Resolution elements. These are things that our product enables that will accomplish these desires and beliefs. For example, « Using this journal will make me more inclined to stick to my habits, more motivated, more focused on my goals, I'll be able to track my goals, I'll be able to plan my goals, I'll be able to write a wish list, etc » HOW TO USE THE PROMPT
👉 Replace the [PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND BRAND DETAILS] placeholder with details about your product and brand.
- Give explanation about your product, what are the features, the benefits, etc. (or you can just copy paste your product description if you want)
- Describe your brand
You will get a table with:
The marketing angle
Desire: What the person deeply wishes to resolve
Belief/Hope: What the person hopes to achieve
Resolution element: Which feature of your product allows them to achieve this

These marketing angles can be used to create videos that utilize these angles and tap into these desires.
But let's go further and ask ChatGPT to draft TikTok Ad scripts based on these angles.
How to get ChatGPT to write TikTok Ad Scripts
In this deep dive, we'll focus on Problem-Solution type scripts. These videos are simple and effective, directly reminding the viewer of a problem that's affecting their life, before introducing our solution and all its benefits.
This prompt also takes into account the stages of awareness of the buyers.

The Theory of the Stages of Awareness, introduced by Eugene Schwartz in his book "Breakthrough Advertising," is a marketing concept that categorizes potential customers based on their level of awareness about a problem and the available solutions, guiding tailored advertising strategies for each stage.
If you want to learn more about this theory, read this (otherwise just skip it and go directly to the prompt):
Unaware: At this stage, the potential customer is not aware of a problem or need, and consequently, they are also unaware of any potential solutions or products.
Example: The person is not aware of the need for an ergonomic chair.
What to Do: Create engaging, educational content that subtly introduces the concept of ergonomic living. Use storytelling or a day-in-the-life format to show someone experiencing discomfort unknowingly caused by a bad chair, emphasizing the importance of ergonomics in daily life.
Problem-Aware: The customer recognizes they have a problem or need but doesn't know that there are solutions available.
Situation: The person realizes they have discomfort but doesn't know the solution.
What to Do on TikTok Ads: Use ads that directly address common problems like back pain or discomfort from sitting. Include user testimonials or dramatizations showing the discomfort caused by standard chairs and hinting at a solution.
Solution-Aware: The customer knows solutions exist but is not aware of your specific product or service.
Situation: The person knows ergonomic chairs can help but hasn't chosen yours.
What to Do on TikTok Ads: Create comparison videos or highlight unique selling points of your chair. Use visuals and quick, catchy explanations to show why your chair is superior to others, focusing on features like adjustability, comfort, and health benefits.
Product-Aware: The customer is aware of your product or service but hasn't made a decision to purchase.
Situation: The person knows about your chair but hasn't decided to buy.
What to Do on TikTok Ads: Showcase detailed features and benefits of your chair. Use customer reviews, unboxing videos, and demonstrations of the chair in action. Highlight any unique aspects, like eco-friendly materials or a special warranty.
Most Aware: The customer knows about your product, understands its value, and is close to making a purchase decision.
Situation: The person is ready to buy but needs a final push.
What to Do on TikTok Ads: Offer a compelling call-to-action, like a limited-time discount or bundle deal. Create urgency with countdowns or limited stock alerts. Use strong, direct calls to action, encouraging immediate purchase.
Okay, the theory is nice, but let's use ChatGPT instead to get ready-to-use scripts based on this:
You are a TikTok content creator known for your engaging and viral video scripts.
Your task is to write a TikTok Ad script for [PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND BRAND DETAILS] focusing on the marketing angle [MARKETING ANGLE].
Here's what this script should convey to the person watching the video:
- What the problem is and what are the consequences (physical or emotional) of this problem
- Present our solution and its major benefit so the viewer can see how your solution will make their life easier and better, and how simple it is to use
- Possibly give some other Unique Selling Proposition of this product or how it works
- Finish with a CTA
A TikTok Ad script should look native, as if spoken by an amateur doing a VoiceOver on a homemade video. It shouldn't look like a commercial TV.
The video should last between 15 and 30 seconds.
You will write 3 different scripts:
Script #1 will mostly target problem aware people
Script #2 will mostly target solution aware people
Script #3 will mostly target product aware people
For context,
Problem aware. They have identify problem in their life for example confidence issue, or back pain. The goal here is to highlight the problem, call it out and agitate the problem. Then introduce our solution. Do not introduce discount code at this stage.
Solution aware. They felt the pain. They know they have a problem and you agitated it before. And they know that some solutions do exist. But they procractinate a lot. We have to talk about unique aspects of our solution and go deep into explaining what our benefits are. Do not introduce discount code at this stage.
Product aware and most aware: They know about the problem, solutions, our product, and they are interested in our product. We just need a little something like great promotion delivered at the great time. At this stage, the best thing to do is to offer a discount or an amazing offer.
Here are some examples of TikTok Ad scripts so you can understand how it looks like:

ChatGPT will give you three ready-to-use TikTok Ads scripts. Here is an example:

These scripts are designed to agitate the problem, piquing the viewer's interest and conditioning them to want to solve this problem, and then present your solution and all its advantages.
All that's left is for you to create your video from these scripts and test them!
But before that, let's create some hooks to boost the number of people who will watch your TikTok Ads.
How to get ChatGPT to craft Viral Hooks
First impressions matter! Let's create hooks that make viewers stop and watch.
Generate 10 hooks for your video.
Here is the prompt:
Great thank you.
You're a copywriter specializing in Direct Response Marketing and TikTok advertising.
I will give you my TikTok Ad script and you will write 10 possible hook variations for the video.
For example, if my TikTok Ad script is:
« [Scene: A car interior covered in pet hair and muddy paw prints. A frustrated pet owner is trying to clean up.]
VoiceOver: "Tired of this mess every time you take your furry friend for a ride? 🐾🚗 Mud, fur, and those never-ending cleanups!"
[Cut to the Waterproof Back Seat Cover for Pets being easily installed in the car.]
VoiceOver: "Meet your lifesaver: The Ultimate Waterproof Back Seat Cover for Pets! It's super easy to install and keeps your car clean, no matter how muddy the adventure gets!"
[Show the pet comfortably sitting on the new seat cover, the car interior clean and tidy.]
VoiceOver: "Now, every trip is a joy, not a chore. Say goodbye to endless cleaning and hello to more fun times with your pet! 🐶✨"
[End with a product shot and website URL.]
VoiceOver: "Grab yours today and make every journey with your pet a breeze! Visit [YourWebsite.com] now! » »
You could rewrite the hook like this:
« [Scene: A car interior covered in pet hair and muddy paw prints. A frustrated pet owner is trying to clean up.]
VoiceOver: « The secret to no more pet hair in your car … »
The hook is the most important element of a video on TikTok. It's the first 1 to 3 seconds of the video and serves to make the user stop and watch the video. So it has to be captivating, interesting, memorable, and immediately grab the user's attention as they browse their TikTok feed.
